Visit Pak Klong Talad, Bangkok’s oldest and busiest wholesale market where flowers, spices and vegetables are sold in abundance. Walk through this colorful market street. Hop on a Tuk-Tuk (3-wheeled local taxi) for a cultural ride through Rattanakosin Island. Tuk-tuk tour ends at Wat Pho.

Visit Wat Pho, known as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, founded during the 16th century and served as The Royal Temple of King Rama I of the Chakri Dynasty. The main ordination hall houses the sacred 46-meter Reclining Buddha whose feet  are beautifully inlaid with mother-of-pearl. Wat Pho is known as ‘the nation’s first public university,’ thanks to 1,360 marble inscriptions about medical, historical and liberal sciences placed all around the temple. The marble inscriptions depict pressure points on the human anatomy which are the origins of the Wat Pho Thai traditional healing principles. Return transfer to hotel.

Ayutthaya

Timing: 08.30-16.00 hrs.

Transfer from hotel by minivan to Ayutthaya, famous for its ancient temple ruins, and today a UNESCO World Heritage site. Ayutthaya was Thailand's capital from the 13th to the 17th century, when the city was attacked, conquered and occupied for seven months.

Prior to the mid-13th century Ayutthaya was an outpost of the Khmer Empire, and the temples dating from the 10th to the 13th centuries are deeply influenced by the Khmer style. Temples constructed after the Khmer period have a noticeably different, more native 'Thai' look.

Visit Bang Pa-in Palace, the former Royal Summer Residence with several buildings in both western and oriental styles, followed by Wat Yai Chai Mongkol.

Lunch at Baan Pomphet, a hidden gem of true Thai hospitality and family-style rustic cuisine. This artfully designed sanctuary embraces Ayutthaya’s Chaophraya Riverfront and the beauty of its namesake, Pomphet Fortress.

After lunch, visit Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Wat Mahathat, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wiharn Phra Mongkhon Bopit. Return transfer to hotel.

Ayutthaya Dress Code: Please wear long pants or long skirts. Shorts and sandals are not allowed.
