Hop on Tuk-Tuk (3-wheeled local taxi) for a cultural ride through Rattanakosin Island. End of the tuk-tuk tour at the Grand Palace. First, visit the Wat Pra Kaew (Emerald Buddha Temple) with many truly beautiful gilded structures and golden pagoda. The temple’s main chapel houses the Emerald Buddha, the most sacred image for Buddhists in Thailand.
Continue into the Grand Palace, which was the residence and administrative base of the kings of Chakri Dynasty. Admire the majestic buildings, some of which are still used for state and royal functions.

Transfer by minivan to Mae Klong district (78 kms / 1.15 hours drive). Visit the one-of-a-kind traditional Thai market selling fresh vegetables, food and fruits. The market occupies part of a train line. A few times a day, a train runs directly through the market. A few minutes before the train comes, vendors lower their umbrellas and move some of their produce away from the train tracks. As soon as the train passes, the vendors move their goods back onto the tracks and continue as normal (until the next train arrives).
Continue to Damnoen Saduak district. Board long tail boat for a ride through narrow canals along villages and fruit plantations.
Visit the floating market where farmers trade their produce from rowing boats. Opportunity to try local food at the market.
